Oil & mixed media
I have always enjoyed the textural aspect of working with oil. For me, this is the key difference to working with pastel. Resultant effects aside, the physical aspect of working with oil is a joy in itself.
Mixed media generally means oil & pastel on canvas - all those textures and three-dimensional effects - a heady mix indeed!
